Sunday Morning

Sunday Morning at 6:30, My DH opened the bedroom door and called my name. Now anyone who knows me would realize that I usually get up around 9am. They should not awaken me unless it is a
Major Emergency. He announced that the lost Cat had returned. She was happy to come home and from the look of her she did not have a good time during her walk about. This cat is a bag of bones. She has been gone, for at least 2 months if not 2 1/2 months. Right now we are feeding her small portions of food several times a day. It looks like she was eating bugs and lizards all this time.
DH also noted that she was the most expensive animal we ever had. With the Dr. bills and the Emergency room, an X-rays, MRI,and Cat Scans and the pain and suffering.
The really good thing is she is home. She has not left my side, and if I move she is beside me.
We are also happy she is home.
It has been a good week so far. As soon as I get my camera back from Dallas I will take a picture of her.

Good times coming

It has been a long time since I have written on this blog. Things have been busy. I have managed to break my Tibia and am in a brace for the duration. I get to go back to the Dr. in Rockwall on Friday July 9th, for new Xrays. I have promised not to climb anymore trees.
It will be good to see my kids and Grands.
No quilting is being done right now. I think I need to fix that today. There is nothing wrong with my right foot, or my hands. Good plan for the rest of the evening. Wallace is out working on one of the the apartments. We evicted the tenant, and between the naked lady upstairs and this guy we have a mess. The NLady left the water running in her bathroom and it went all over the place, including the downstairs apartment. Neither of them called me, before it did any damage.
It seems like I only have done depressing things lately, but good things are happening here, the Blueberries are plentiful, and getting ripe. By the 4th of July they will be ready to pick. The pond is full of water, and the fish are ready for catching. The kids come down here for 4th.
Until next time.

Winter

This has been a strange winter. Lots of snow, and ice. At my house it has been especially cold. this year as we did not have a lot of firewood. Today I jumped up and down and had a hissy fit. I have been cold all winter, in this barn of a house. Now I know why. we have have not had any heat. The heat strips had sometime in the past tripped the breakers. Some person who lives in this house with me went into the attic to see if I really needed to call the heating and cooling people. That person discovered the fact that the heat strips where none functioning. The problem has been resolved. The furnice is putting out heat. The best thing is it did not cost any money.
This is Pat's quilt. I am going to try to put a Robin picture in each blog. This is a learning project for me. I found I need to get each skill perfected before I add something else. Such is the life of a person with dislexia, it was so much better when I was in School.
Pat's quilt is wonderful. Each border works well.
All of the quilts turned out well. A lot of thought went into doing them.
We are also working on personel RR. You pick a border method out of a hat and go with it. This is easier for anyone who has not done one before, and it is a challenge for each of us.
Well I am off to enjoy the heat.

The Round Robins return Home.

I have spent 3 days figuring out how to down load pictures to my Blog. Thanks to Pat and Wallace It worked finally. This is my top and it is beautiful. Two and a half years ago I sent the center flying off.
It turned out great, now to quilt it. I also took pictures of the other tops, and will show them in the next week or so.

The Snow retreat

My friend Penny and I headed to Greenville Thursday morning, and into the rain and sleet. It was retreat time, and we could not miss it. Through sleet and snow we drove for 3 hours. By the time we arrived we had about 3 inches of snow. Now this is East Texas, we do not get lots of snow. We do not know what to do with it, do you shovel it or huddle by the fire. We could build a snowman. We older 13 ladies just admired it, and left that to the our kids and grandkids. Another thing I discovered is, We also can not drive in it.

So we solved the problem and stayed in the warmth and sewed. By Friday morning we had a little over 6 inches of the fluffy clean white stuff. The world was silent and clean . So we sewed some more, and took pictures.

By Saturday it was time to go out and visit the local Quilt Shop. Penny and I had left 2 crockpots cooking away and started out with Sarah to visit the quilt shop and the book store. Spent some money and went back to check out dinner.

Now dinner was a disaster, I don't think we will ever do that again. To much wine in the stew, and it overwhelmed everything. We also decided we need to decorate room Doors. This has to be done by May.

I will try to put pictures in this addition of my blog. I think I need a lesson on placing pictures on this blog. I will try again tomorrow.

I am not ready for retreat.

So much to do, so little time. Retreat is Thursday and I am still putting 9 patches together. I really only have 80 to do and the time to do all 80 of them.
For my personal Round Robin, I am going to start over. I did not like the block I started out with and just could not find the energy tom work on it. I want to do an applique center. That excites me.
I have had phone calls from Olivia and Jacob this week. I can usually understand most of what Jacob says. At 3 he is so excited to be able to call his Gram and has so much to say he talks so fast. Olivia is just a wonderful young lady. She is a joy and delight to be around.
Wallace and I just celebrated our 45th anniverary on the 4th. It has been a fun trip.
Well, off to sew 9patches, I can not put them off anymore.
